Description

The price a buyer is willing to pay for a security.

The bid price is what buyers are prepared to pay for a security, seen in forex trading where it’s the price at which you can sell the base currency. For example, in a USD/CHF quote of 1.4527/32, 1.4527 is the bid price, indicating the market’s offer to buy US Dollars for Swiss Francs at that rate.
