Wedge Chart Pattern

BBack

Back to Glossary

Description

A chart pattern formed by converging trend lines, signaling potential reversals or continuations.

The wedge chart pattern appears on price charts as two converging trend lines, either rising or falling, which can signal either a continuation or a reversal of the current trend. A rising wedge in an uptrend or a falling wedge in a downtrend typically suggests a possible reversal, while their counterparts might indicate a continuation after a brief consolidation.
